The method involves determining temperature of brake disc (10) as function of engine temperature. The engine temperature is computed as function of motor resistor or motor constants of brake motor (3), during an operation of electrical brake motor from motor current, motor voltage and engine speed. The clamping force is produced from electrical brake motor based on brake disc temperature. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a control device; and (2) parking brake.
