PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum evaporation type fresh water generator excellent in heat efficiency.SOLUTION: The vacuum evaporation type fresh water generator 1 includes: a heater 3 for heating supplied raw material seawater by heat from a heat source to generate vapor; an enclosed type container body 2 to which the vapor generated in the heater 3 is introduced; a decompression means (water ejector) 7 for decompressing inside of the container body 2; a condenser 4 for cooling the vapor inside the container body 2 by sea water for cooling to generate fresh water; and a preheater 5 for heating a part of the seawater for cooling discharged from the condenser 4 by the vapor in the container body 2 to supply the water to the preheater 3 as raw material seawater. Each heat transfer pipe 40 or 50 of at least the condenser 4 or of the preheater 5 is unevenly processed on the inner surface or on the outer surface.
