PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration and reduction in charge amount of toner in a retention part where a part of developer can be retained, in a developing device that provides the retention part to suppress a variation in height of a liquid level of developer in a developer supply area.SOLUTION: A retention part 28 where a part of developer D can be retained is provided on the upstream side in a developer conveyance direction of an area facing a developing roller 21 in a first conveyance path 23; and a conveyance amount regulating part 29 that conveys less amount of developer than the upstream in the developer conveyance direction of the retention part 28 does is provided between the area facing the developing roller 21 in the first conveyance path 23 and the retention part 28. An opening 273 is formed on a partition plate 27 that partitions the first conveyance path 23 and a second conveyance path 24 so as for a part of the developer D retained in the retention part 28 to move to the second conveyance path 24. |
