PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine that can detect a rotation state of a washing and dewatering tub at a low cost without needing a rotation sensor.SOLUTION: The washing machine comprises: a washing and dewatering tub 2 for washing and dewatering clothes; a pulsator 4 for agitating the clothes; a drive part 6 for driving and braking the washing and dewatering tub 2 and the pulsator 4; a feedwater valve 12 for feeding water into a tank 3 that accommodates the washing and dewatering tub 2 therein; and a water level sensor 9 for detecting a water level in the tank 3. The washing machine detects the rotation of the washing and dewatering tub 2 by a measurement of the water level sensor 9. Accordingly, even though having a simple structure, the washing machine can detect the rotation state of the washing and dewatering tub without needing the rotation sensor, and further can realize the detecting operation at a low cost. |
