PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that colors of a color image is changed in accordance with the presence/absence of a background image.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus comprises a first lookup table and a second lookup table in which gradation values of a first color space and gradation values of a second color space corresponding to colors of color inks are made correspondent. The gradation values of color pixels constituting a color image in the first color space are color-converted into the gradation values of the second color space. Therefore, when color-converting image data indicating a color image to be formed partially on a background image from the first color space into the second color space, the presence/absence of the background image at a position of a color pixel to be a color conversion target is determined. When there is no background image at that position, the gradation value of the color pixel is converted into a gradation value of the second color space by using the first lookup table and when there is the background image at that position, the gradation value of the color pixel is color-converted into a gradation value of the second color space by using the second lookup table. |
