PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tires improving wet grip performance and ice grip performance while decreasing the deterioration of abrasion resistance, and a winter tire using the same.SOLUTION: This rubber composition for tires contains a hydrated alumina in which an average particle size in powder is 12 μm or more, a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (NSA) is 50-300 m/g, and a crystal size is 5-100 nm.
