PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time for changing casting rolls.SOLUTION: An apparatus and method for continuously casting a thin steel strip include: a pair of casting rolls rotatable in mutual direction and mounted in a roll cassette capable of being transferred from a set up station to a casting position through a transfer station; and a guide fixed in position, wherein the casting rolls mounted to the roll cassette are prepared for casting at the set up station, casting rolls are capable of being exchanged at the transfer station, and the casting rolls are operational in the casting position. The guide allows the casting rolls mounted to the roll cassette to be moved between the set up station and the casting position through the transfer station. |
