An auxiliary tool head for a milling and boring machine or like machine-tool to enable milling, drilling, and tapping operations to be performed, comprises a base-plate 1 mounted on the front face 2 of the head-stock of the machine and having mounted thereon a body 4 provided with an opening through which the machine spindle 3 passes so as to project out of the body and with axial and radial recesses 7, 8 respectively for interchangeable tool units 9. The body is rotatable relatively to the baseplate, means being provided for locking the body in its adjusted position. The axial and radial tool units are rotated by means of spur and bevel gears respectively, from a driving sleeve 16 on the spindle 3 through the intermediary of manually-operated clutches 18. Each tool unit is provided with a securing flange 10. In a modification, the recesses provided in the tool head are inclined. The tool units may be in the form of holders fitted with fixed tools.
