PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die made of a cast steel can reduce the coagulation of aluminum thereto, and increasing the adhesion between an oxide film and a base material, thereby suppress the peeling of the oxide film. SOLUTION: The die is made of the cast steel containing, by weight, 1.25 to 3.00% Si and ≤1.25% Cr. By preheating, an oxide film of Fe<SB>3</SB>O<SB>4</SB>with a film thickness of 1.5 to 10 μm is formed, and, the oxide film has lubricity with aluminum because of its inertness, thus the coagulation of aluminum can be suppressed.
