PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a currency depositing and dispensing device for managing cash with high accuracy, and for reducing the workload. SOLUTION: This currency depositing and dispensing device includes: a reception part 101 for receiving cast currency one by one; a put-out part 108 for putting out currency; a cassette loading part 106 for loading a plurality of storage cassettes for storing currency; a payment conveyance means 105 for conveying currency between the reception part and the cassette loading part; a discrimination part 102 installed at the payment conveyance part for discriminating and counting currency; a reading part 104 for reading and outputting cassette designation information added to the storage cassette; a storage part 112 for storing unique information including the information of the number of denomination-categorized currency of each storage cassette; and a control part 111 for generating and outputting exchange instruction information indicating the exchange instruction of the storage cassette which is loaded on the cassette loading part based on the unique information when the cassette designation information is applied.
