A rectal truss comprises an outer sleeve of rubber filled with a pad 2 of absorbent material, such as cotton wool or sponge rubber, with a tension core 6, of wire, passing through it and connected to means for securing it in position, the sleeve being apertured, at 18, to allow lotion &c. to escape from the absorbent filling. The core 6 engages a fastening loop 11 at one end and a ring, to which a wire loop 9 is secured, at the other.
