PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of carrying out cooling and heating simultaneous operation adopting constitution of carrying out intermediate pressure injection of returning a refrigerant of intermediate pressure to a compression element on the subsequent stage side in a multistage compression type refrigerating cycle. SOLUTION: The air conditioner capable of carrying out cooling and heating simultaneous operation adopts a multistage compression type compression mechanism 21 having two compression elements 21d, 21e as the compression mechanism 21 and constituted to compress a refrigerant discharged from the compression element 21d on the prior stage side sequentially by the compression element 21e on the subsequent stage side. A utilization side injection pipe 94 branching a part of the refrigerant flowing in liquid refrigerant branch pipes 92, 93 branched from a liquid refrigerant junction pipe 91, to return the part of the refrigerant to the compression element 21e on the subsequent stage side are connected to the respective liquid refrigerant branch pipes 92, 93, and utilization side economizer heat exchangers 68, 69 are provided for carrying out heat exchange with the refrigerant flowing in the utilization side injection pipe 94 corresponding to the refrigerant flowing in the respective liquid refrigerant branch pipes 92, 93.
