摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module exhibiting further improved transmission density (transmission throughput) and capable of driving in various modes suitable for driving at not more than 10 Gbps/channel or high-speed driving at 40 Gbps, 100 Gbps or the like, responding to broadening of optical data transmission from a long distance to a short distance in the optical communication field in recent years. SOLUTION: In the module, an upper structure having an optical transmission path such as an optical waveguide 7 and an optical element-electronic component mounting substrate mounting optical elements and electronic components are fixed by pressing in a perpendicular direction onto a wiring board by use of an attachment body such as a fastening member so as to achieve optical and electric connection. In the module, an end portion of the optical waveguide 21 is provided with at least either a light entrance portion 21a or a light exit portion 21b branched into two; and the branched light exit portions 21b are provided with wavelength selective filters 24-1 and 24-2, respectively so as to carry out multiplexed optical transmission and reception using light at two different wavelengths.
