PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance system for obtaining a tomographic plane at an optional region of a subject by using a magnetic resonance phenomenon, and in particular to provide a means for solving a problem arising when mask processing is performed by an absolute value image by using data obtained from an RF reception coil having a plurality of coil elements. SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus has an MAC (multiple array) coil 10 being a receiving coil of a perpendicular magnetic field type and a solenoid coil 11. A threshold to be used for mask processing is calculated only according to data obtained from the solenoid coil 11 (flows F<SB>3</SB>and F<SB>4</SB>) and is used as a threshold in the mask processing (flows F<SB>2</SB>and F<SB>5</SB>) with respect to an original absolute value image obtained from both coils 10 and 11 (flows F<SB>5</SB>and F<SB>6</SB>). Thus, an appropriate threshold is obtained and influences of signal distributions unnecessary for the processing are reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
