PURPOSE: A continuous heat treatment apparatus and method for stainless steel are provided to block an oxygen atmosphere of a heat treatment process from the strip by forming a coating layer on the surface of the strip in advance. CONSTITUTION: A continuous heat treatment apparatus for stainless steel comprises a coating unit(100), a heat treatment unit, and a coating removal unit. The coating unit forms a coating layer 100-200μm thick for preventing the formation of chromium oxide on the surface of strip(ST). The heat treatment unit is arranged consecutively to the coating unit and heat-treats the strip with the coating layer. The coating removal unit is arranged consecutively to the heat treatment unit and removes the coating layer from the strip. The heat treatment unit is an annealing furnace(110) for annealing the strip. |
