A method for diagnosing the type of headache in epilepsy comprises the analysis of clinical, electrophysiological, neurovisualization data, the interview of the patients. When the vascular genesis of the headache is probable, sonography of the blood vessels of the head and neck is made. In the course of the interview, the time and frequency of the headache are identified. It should also be clarified whether the headache is accompanied with the increased arterial blood pressure and nausea, whether the headache intensifies with physical exercises. Such factors as tolerability of sounds and light, the pattern of the headache, the administration of drugs, the level of anxiety and depression are also taken into account. The data are analyzed for diagnosing the type of headache and selecting the therapeutic approach. |
