PURPOSE: Short message service (SMS) transmission method and device in a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) mobile terminal are provided to transmit an SMS through a mobile communication provider network in which SMS transmission cost is relatively low. CONSTITUTION: When a transmission target SMS message is received from an input unit, a control unit of multi-SIM mobile terminal designates a SIM being in charge of SMS transmission in a plurality of SIMs mounted on a SIM providing unit (201). The control unit allows designation of the SIM being in charge of the SMS transmission to a user. The control unit transmits an SMS through a mobile communication service provider network of the designated SIM (203).
