A METHOD OF EXTRACTING A HIGH CONTENT OF QUERCETIN FROM ONION SOLID WASTES

PURPOSE: A method of extracting a high content of quercetin is provided to extract a high content of quercetin by adding a solvent to onion powder and extracting with ultrasound. CONSTITUTION: A mixed solvent is added to onion, and extracted with ultrasound at 30-60deg.C. The mixed solvent includes C1-C4 alcohol and water at a volume ratio of 4:6 to 8:2. The onion is onion powder. The onion is onion solid waste. The onion solid waste is onion peel. The alcohol is ethanol. The volume ratio of alcohol and water is 5:5 to 7:3. The ultrasonic extraction is performed at 35-45 Hz of the ultrasonic wavelength and 300-500 watt of the output condition.
