PURPOSE: An even-level inverter and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce switching loss, by performing 2-phase modulation on the basis of a 3-phase sine signal. CONSTITUTION: A division part (110) divides an input direct current (DC) power into an even-number of voltages. A switching part (120) has a plurality of switching devices. The plurality of switching devices switches the divided voltage. A control part (140) modulates a 3-phase sine signal into a 2-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) signal.
