LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY HAVING AN ANODE CONTAINING AQUEOUS BINDER

PURPOSE: A lithium secondary battery includes a negative electrode including an aqueous binder consisting of a carboxy methyl cellulose satisfying specific physical properties and SBR, thereby improving electrode processability and preventing swelling phenomena. CONSTITUTION: A lithium secondary battery includes a negative electrode on which a negative electrode mixture including a negative electrode active material is spread; a positive electrode on which a positive electrode mixture including a positive electrode active material is spread; and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode mixture includes carboxyl methyl cellulose which is an aqueous binder and of which the hydroxyl group substitution degree by a carboxyl methyl group is 0.7-1.2, the molecular weight is 500,000-900,000, and the pH is 6.5-8.0; and an SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) of which the particle diameter is 90-150 nm and the tensile strength is 90-160 kgf.
