<p>PURPOSE: An optical transmitter using the thermo-coupled resonant-type modulator and an optical communication system thereof are provided to provide the same temperature environment to the internal circular filters and the waveguides of a wavelength control unit which is integrated in a semiconductor substrate. CONSTITUTION: Light sources (301,321) output a multi-wavelength optical signal. Each of the wavelength controllers (314,324) receives an optical signal of a first wavelength from the multi-wavelength optical signal. Each of the wavelength controllers outputs the wavelength multiplexed optical signal by combining a first transmission data signal to the optical signal of the first wavelength. Each of the wavelength controllers is integrated to a semiconductor substrate in which the inner side is filled with the material with high thermal conductivity.</p> |
