The network has functional nodes linked in series by information transmission resources, which transmit information between the nodes in a bidirectional manner. Each node (80) switches a mode of operation for forwarding information to a next adjacent node (82) upon detection of a malfunction of a preceding node (81) by a communication unit of a node controller. The communication unit of the node controller launches a diagnostic phase of malfunction of the previous node and/or a restoration of communication of information with the previous node.
