<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for managing objects in a portable electrical device are provided to accurately distinguish the objects indicated in a display unit by a user of the portable electrical device and to select and process managing target objects at the same time by changing display arrangement according to the size change of the objects. CONSTITUTION: A portable electronic device indicates one or more objects in a display unit with a first arrangement mode if an object is indicated (201,203). The portable electronic device enlarges or reduces the size of the object while changing object display arrangement if an enlargement or reduction event is generated (205-211). The portable electronic device indicates an object control menu in the display unit if the one or more objects are selected (213,215). The portable electronic device identically processes the selected one or more objects according to the type of the object control menu if the object control menu is selected (217,219).
