THAWING RECEPTACLE FOR AN OIL TANK GATE VALVE

A receptacle is provided for capturing fluid flushed over the gate valve when thawing the gate valve in the drain pipe of an oil storage tank. The receptacle includes an outer shell for surrounding the body of the gate valve so as to define a thawing chamber between the outer shell and the valve body of the gate valve that receives the thawing fluid through an open top end. A drain port in communication with a bottom end of the thawing chamber allows the thawing fluid to be collected. The receptacle further includes a tray member supported on the outer shell so as to define a drip collecting area spanning below an outlet pipe fitting of the gate valve.
