A sensor device (150) for a battery cell (100) of an electrical energy accumulator is proposed. The battery cell (100) has a housing (140) inside of which an anode electrode (110) electrically connected to a first battery terminal (115), a cathode electrode (120) electrically connected to a second battery terminal (125) and an electrolyte conducting ions between the anode electrode (110) and the cathode electrode (120) can be or are accommodated. The sensor device (150) has a reference electrode (160) which can be or is arranged inside the housing (140) of the battery cell (100) in ionic contact with the electrolyte. The sensor device (150) also has a detection device (170) for detecting sensor data. The detection device (170) can be arranged or is arranged inside the housing (140). The detection device (170) has an anode terminal which can be or is electrically connected to the first battery terminal (115) inside the housing (140), a cathode terminal which can be or is electrically connected to the second battery terminal (125) inside the housing (140), and a reference terminal which can be or is electrically connected to the reference electrode (160) inside the housing (140).
