The invention describes an armature assembly (2) comprising an armature body (20, 21, 22) and a number of armature ring segments (3) mounted on the armature body (20, 21, 22), wherein the armature assembly (1) comprises a number of insertion interface elements (40A, 50A, 50A') and a number of complementary receiving interface elements (40B, 50B) for mounting an armature ring segment (3) onto the armature body (20, 21, 22); whereby an insertion interface element (40A, 50A, 50A') is realised to engage with a complementary receiving interface element (40B, 50B) in a direction essentially parallel to a rotation axis of the armature (2); and wherein an insertion interface element (40A, 50A, 50A') is formed as an integral part of the armature body (20, 21, 22) or as an integral part of an armature ring segment (3). The invention also describes a method of assembling an armature (2), and a wind turbine comprising such an armature assembly (2). |
