PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching regulator with a circuit capable of detecting a short-circuit state easily and completely without need for an adjustment process such as trimming.SOLUTION: The switching regulator is configured so that a discharge circuit is controlled to be under a short-circuit state according to a power switching element drive signal of a switching regulator, the operation of the discharge circuit is stopped when a power switching element is always under an on state, charging a capacitor is continuously performed, and a short-circuit state is detected by detecting that the charging of the capacitor reaches not less than a constant potential by a voltage detection circuit. |
