PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low shrinkage polyester film, optionally also exhibiting good optical properties, and a process for the production thereof.SOLUTION: A wound roll of biaxially oriented polyester film exhibiting dimensional change in both of its flow direction (MD) and its transverse direction (TD) after being heated at 180°C for 30 minutes of less than or equal to 0.08%. The film is a composite film comprising one or more coatings on one or both sides of a supporting polyester substrate.
