PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a voice translation device which achieves smooth communication between speakers by adjusting timing of reproducing a synthetic voice.SOLUTION: The voice translation device has voice recognition means, machine translation means, voice synthesis means, utterance detection means, and voice output means. The voice recognition means recognizes a voice and generates an original language sentence. The machine translation means translates the original language sentence into a target language sentence. The voice synthesis means converts the target language sentence into a synthesis voice. The utterance detection means detects an utterance section from a voice. The voice output means controls output of the synthesis voice on the basis of the timing of the utterance section detected by the utterance detection means.
