PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a correlation between a pair of signal data columns even when occurence of vignetting by an imaging optical system in any one of a pair of light fluxes passing through different areas of an exit pupil surface of the imaging optical system results in relative distortion occurring in the pair of signal data columns to be output from an image pick-up element.SOLUTION: A body control section 214 repeats a calculation of a first correction value fand a second correction value gso that a square sum of a difference between a signal sequence obtained by multiplying a focus detection signal sequence of an A sequence by a first correction variable f[k] and adding a second correction variable g[k] thereto and then shifted by a current shift amount k and a focus detection signal sequence B[i] of a B sequence is minimized, and a calculation of a correlation amount for each shift amount k based on the first correction value fand the second correction value g, while changing the shift amount k by a predetermined amount. |
