PURPOSE: A knitting machine is provided to form a knit fabric in which at least three different knit structures having different pile lengths are arranged on a stitch-by-stitch base and to change a pile length. CONSTITUTION: A knitting machine(1) is a knitting machine capable of changing a pile length and comprises a cylinder, a synchor-bed(6), multiple synchors, plural selector jacks, an actuator, and a sinker cap. A cylinder is arranged to hold knitting needles so that knitting needles are extended. A synchor-bed includes a disc-type horizontal plane which is arranged perpendicularly to a cylinder shaft. Multiple synchors includes a low-pile sinker and a high-pile sinker which are arranged on a sinker-bed in order to extend to a radius direction and to be movable to a radius direction of a cylinder. Multiple selector jacks include a low-pile selector and a high-pile selector which are movable selectively to a radius direction in order to work on a low-pile sinker and a high-pile sinker. An actuator is arranged to work selectively on selector jacks when one of knitting needles leads in a pile yarn and a ground yarn so that the first control in which an actuator works on a low-pile selector jack, the second control in which an actuator works on a high-pile selector jack, and the third control in which an actuator works on neither a low-pile selector jack nor a high-pile selector jack are performed selectively. |
