PURPOSE: A flat panel display device and a driving method thereof are provided for a user to easily use the device by fine control of a viewing angle. CONSTITUTION: A flat panel display device comprises a flat display panel (1), a light irradiating part (2), and a controlling part (3). The flat display panel comprises a self-emission device, a first side (11) and a second side (12) arranged in parallel. The second side implements an image and the image is simultaneously implemented in a first direction perpendicular to the second side and in a second direction forming the angle of inclination with the second side. A light irradiating part faces the first side of the flat display panel and irradiates light to the second direction for the light to be overlapped with the image implemented in the second direction. The control part selectively operates the light irradiating part.
