With the fast increase of data traffic load in mobile communication, network operators are moving towards integrating more non-3GPP access, e.g. WLAN, tightly to the mobile network. However, as these non-3GPP accesses lack the basic control features of the 3GPP radio access, some operation the mobile network may not apply. The disclosed technique provides a method for controlling connections, via the WLAN system, between the mobile terminal and the cellular operator core network, and between the mobile terminal and the local network connected to the WLAN system The method may include the steps of creating, by the gateway to the cellular operator core network in the WLAN system, a map based on status of the connections, the gateway being one of end points of a tunnel between the mobile node and the gateway; informing, by the gateway, the mobile node of the map; and marking, by the mobile node, packets to be transmitted, based on the map. |
