PURPOSE: A system monitoring device and a controlling method thereof calculates the average movement of the continuous status data, computes a margin rate of the average continuous status data, and displays the device's possible energy reduction amount based on the margin rate. CONSTITUTION: A data accumulation unit (101) receives and accumulates data about a particle sensor's continuous status. A quality margin calculator (102) calculates a quality margin rate based on the accumulated status data and reference values. An energy reduction calculator (103) calculates an integration value of the quality margin rate. A display controller (104) displays the integration value on a monitor.
