A polyester resin for a toner is provided to impart excellent shelf stability and fixability to an electrostatic recording material or recording medium and high image quality to a toner. A polyester resin for a toner comprises 85-98.5 wt% of a polyester resin, and 1.5-15 wt% of polyethylene wax. The polyester resin comprises: an acid component containing 80-99.5 mol% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and 0.5-20 mol% of a trihydric or higher polyhydric carboxylic acid based on the total acid component; and 10-80 mols of an aliphatic diol and 10-90 mols of an aromatic diol including a bisphenol A derivative, based on 100 mols of the total acid component. The polyethylene wax has a maximum particle diameter of 20-300 micrometers. |
