PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To non-destructively detect a foreign matter mixed in an inspection object made of a plant or a plant product with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A foreign matter detection method includes an emission step for emitting measuring light of a near-infrared region to an inspection object made of a plant or a plant product, an imaging step for imaging the inspection object to obtain a hyper spectrum image by receiving scattering light from the inspection object by the light emitted in the emission step, and an analysis step for detecting a foreign matter mixed in the inspection object on the basis of a spectrum shape between two pixels different from each other and included in the hyper spectrum image obtained in the imaging step. The foreign matter can be detected even when the foreign matter exists inside the plant or plant product being the inspection object by using light of a near-infrared region for measuring light. Further, by imaging the hyper spectrum image, the foreign matter can be detected in a pixel unit, and the foreign matter can be detected with high accuracy including the size of the foreign matter, or the like. |
