Class 6(ii) Hedge-cutting apparatus having a power-driven cutting blade is mounted in an offset position on a tractor by forwardly extending booms 11 pivoted to each side of the tractor and joined by a cross-bar 14. The blade 16 is angularly movable about a vertical pivot 15, together with an extension bar 25 normally held by a spring 26 in a fork 29, but disengaging if the blade 16 encounters undue obstruction. The lifting jib 17 is mounted on a bracket pivoted to a plunger rod 32 actuated from the hydraulic pressure system of the tractor. At its rear end, the jib is held down by a tie-rod 34 secured to a cap 35 on the outer casing 33. The blade 16 is actuated by compressed air through a pipe 21 from an air-tank replenished by a compressor 23 driven from the tractor power take-off. |
