PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the tightness of stitches while suppressing excessive feeding of a bobbin thread.SOLUTION: A sewing machine comprises: a needle bar 12 holding a sewing needle 11 and vertically moving; a rotating hook 13 allowing a needle thread U to be entangled in a bobbin thread D by rotation movement; a sewing machine motor 21 to be a driving source of the vertical movement of the needle bar and the rotation movement of the rotating hook; a moving mechanism 80 allowing a fabric holding part 81 to move a workpiece C in any moving direction along a horizontal surface for locating a needle at any position; a control unit 90 controlling the moving mechanism on the basis of sewing data; and a center presser foot 110 including an insertion part 113 inserting the sewing needle and preventing workpiece held by the fabric holding part from floating. The center presser foot can be fixed and held, or stopped right above the workpiece held by the fabric holding part, and at least a lower end part of the insertion part has an opening shape spreading downward. |
