PURPOSE: A multimedia device and a controlling method thereof are provided to supply a conducted mode of a logo typed indicator to the direct interface enabling to set up or to supply a solution automatically changing the conducted mode of the logo typed indicator according to a state of a multimedia device. CONSTITUTION: A multimedia device comprises a power supply unit (313) supplying a power source; an optical source unit (308) emitting the light according to the electric power supply of the power supply unit; a logo typed assembly (310) planned in order that the emitted light is penetrated-the logo typed assembly is positioned in one side of a screen in which video data outputted by the multimedia device is displayed; and a controller (320) controlling a power supply state of the power supply unit by two or more steps according to a power control signal or mode of the multimedia device.
