The circuit has delay units (1,2). The input signal (PULS-IN) delayed by k cycles of clock signal (CLK1) is inputted with respect to the delay unit (1). The delay unit (2) is provided with a converter (3) and a shift register (4). The converter is connected to the shift register by n lines. The values generated by passing the input signal are applied with respect to the converter for outputting the values to the shift register corresponding to specific lines respectively such that the output signal (PULS-OUT) is outputted from the shift register. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for controllably delaying input signal; (2) microscope for examining object; and (3) method for controlling microscope.
