<p>A silicon purification device is provided with: a crucible (114) for holding molten silicon (10) therein; a heating unit (113) for heating the silicon held in the crucible (114); a cooling body supported to be immersible in the molten silicon (10) while a cooling fluid is flowing therethrough; a cooling unit for cooling the cooling fluid that has absorbed heat by flowing through the cooling body to thereby regenerate the cooling fluid such that the cooling fluid can flow through the cooling body again; and a compressor (270) for compressing the cooling fluid. The cooling body, the cooling unit, and the compressor (270) are connected to each other to constitute a circulation path for the cooling fluid.</p>
