PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve visibility by forming different threshold voltages within one pixel region. CONSTITUTION: A first alignment layer (11) is formed on the front surface of a first substrate. A common electrode (270) is formed on a second substrate. The common electrode and the pixel electrode form an electric field. A second alignment layer (21) is formed on the front surface of the second substrate. A liquid crystal layer consists of liquid crystal molecules.
