PURPOSE: A variable compression ratio engine is provided to include an air discharging valve device, thereby discharging air in a combustion chamber to the outside of the combustion chamber in a part of section of compression stroke in order to control the compression ratio in the combustion chamber separately or independently to an intake valve device. CONSTITUTION: A variable compression ratio engine includes a cylinder head (110), an intake valve unit, an exhaust valve unit, and an air discharging valve unit. The intake valve unit is installed at the cylinder head, and sucks air into a combustion chamber at a time of intake stroke. The exhaust valve unit is installed at the cylinder head, and discharges the combustion gas in the combustion chamber to the outside at a time of exhaust stroke. The air discharging valve unit is installed at the cylinder head, and discharges the air in the combustion chamber to the outside of the combustion chamber in a part of section of compression stroke in order to control the compression ratio in the combustion chamber. |
