PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a sidewall, capable of providing a pneumatic tire having such a high cut resistance that even when the sidewall suffers cut damages, the cut is prevented from growing toward an internal surface of a tire; and to provide a pneumatic tire that includes the sidewall having high cut resistance.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for a sidewall of a pneumatic tire contains hollow particles, wherein: the hollow particles account for 3 to 30 vol.% of the rubber composition; and the hollow particles have a mode diameter of 1 to 100 μm and a particle size distribution (index) of 1.70 or smaller. The pneumatic tire is formed by applying the rubber composition to the sidewall thereof. |
