PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing ammonium sulfate from caking, the method obtaining a sufficient caking-preventing effect for a component of fertilizer and having no bad influence on the environment; and to provide an ammonium sulfate-mixed fertilizer.SOLUTION: A method for preventing ammonium sulfate from caking includes at least a process in which particulate ammonium sulfate for fertilizer is mixed with a solution whose solute is a saccharide. In the method, the solvent in the solution evaporates to coat the surface of the ammonium sulfate with the saccharide. The saccharide is trehalose, and the amount of the saccharide is at least 0.1 wt.%, in particular, at least 0.5 wt.% to the amount of the ammonium sulfate. The solvent is water or an organic solvent, and the evaporation of the solvent by heating is acceptable. An ammonium sulfate-mixed fertilizer is produced by using the method for preventing ammonium sulfate from caking. At least ammonium phosphate and potassium chloride are blended as other components of the ammonium sulfate-mixed fertilizer. |
