PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating contaminated soil containing arsenic which exceeds the soil elusion criteria stipulated by the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act at low cost.SOLUTION: A method of treating contaminated soil, which is a preferred method for treating contaminated soil containing arsenic exceeding the soil elusion criteria, includes: excavating and removing the contaminated soil part in which an amount of exchangeable calcium exceeds 110 mg based on 100 g of dry soil; and carrying out insolubilization treatment with the contaminated soil part in which an amount of the exchangeable calcium is equal to or less than 110 mg based on 100 g of dry soil using a magnesium oxide composition at the current position.
