PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surge suppressor which has a stably low break-down voltage and is manufactured at low costs, and to provide a manufacturing method of the surge suppressor.SOLUTION: A surge suppressor includes: an insulation tube 2; a pair of sealing electrodes 3 closing both end openings of the insulation tube and sealing a discharge control gas therein; and a protruding electrode member 4 having a base end, fastened to one of the pair of sealing electrodes with a conductive fusion material H, and a tip protruding toward the other side. The protruding electrode member has a hole part 4a formed from the base end to the tip, and the conductive fusion material contains a metal having electron emission ability higher than the sealing electrodes and extends from the base end to the tip in the hole part 4a. |
