PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system interactively controlled by TV viewer's remote controller.SOLUTION: The system interactively controlled by a TV viewer's remote controller superimposes a portion of a scroll program guide over a basic programming signal for display on a viewer's display screen. A tuner has an input for receiving TV signals of a plurality of cable channels and an output for passing a signal of an optional channel selected from the plurality of channels. A computer has an input for receiving one of a plurality of control signals from the TV viewer's remote controller and an output for controlling the tuner to pass the signal of the one channel selected from the plurality of the channels in response to one of the plurality of control signals from the TV viewer's remote controller.
