The mechanism has a planetary gear mechanism, and a clutch that is provided with two reversible ratio steps. A longitudinal lock is arranged downstream of a differential distribution, and an actuatable multi-disk clutch is arranged in the switching mechanism. An electric motor is provided via a shift fork (25) on a selector sleeve. A ball ramp system acts upon the multi-disk clutch.
