PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient article inspection system for successive packages, which is configured to reduce time required for a joining process by determining optimum cutting positions.SOLUTION: An inspection system includes an inspection section 5, a boundary sensor 18, a cutting section 10, and a joining section 12, and is configured to cut and remove a defective portion from a successive package 1, and then join cut points before and behind the removed portion together. The inspection system utilizes a determination signal sent from the inspection section 5 and a boundary signal sent from the boundary sensor 18 to determine optimum cutting positions in boundaries 3 for cutting and removing a part of the successive package including a defective individual packaged portion 2', and executes cutting and removing operation. For example, in a case where the defective individual packaged portion 2' is detected alone, a total of three individual packaged portions 2' including the defective individual packaged portion 2' and two individual packaged portions 2' before and behind the defective individual packaged portion are cut and removed at defect-free boundaries 3, 3. |
